If you love the quirky, historic and unconventional, then the Strathmore Arms is for you! Recently under new management, this romantic wayside tavern has it all: remoteness, stunning countryside, 4 en-suite bedrooms, a range of real ales, a great menu and a warm welcome to walkers, tourists and locals alike.
Our reasonably priced dishes change regularly and use local produce wherever possible. Perched near the end of a cul-de-sac in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and UNESCO designated Geopark, the Inn is a perfect setting for a short break or as a base from which to explore the many local attractions ranging from cultural icons (teesdalediscovery.com) to exceptional fishing and country pursuits. The Strathmore Arms offers a large Car Park, Beer Garden and Camping Field. It is the venue for an annual Beer Festival and several Organised Events. Don?t hesitate; take a trip and join us for the day or a couple of nights, you won?t be disappointed!
Directions.
We are located on a minor road that branches off the B6277 about 500 yards south of the bridge over the River Tees at Middleton-in-Teesdale. Once on this single track road (with plenty of passing places!), we are on the left, fronting onto the road, approximately two miles to the west of the junction with the B6277.
