Southview is a luxury bed and breakfast licensed guesthouse, with its own indoor heated swimming pool in the heart of Windermere.
Situated in quiet cul-de-sac position overlooking the town centre, Southview is only a 2 minute walk from various bars and restaurants.
Southview is a non-smoking guest house, offering a high standard in service and hospitality with a focus on perfection and your satisfaction.
All of our rooms are individually furnished and decorated, each with an en suite and central heating. Our classic en suite rooms feature double bedded accommodation with en suite showers and one with a twin/king-size double bed. Our superbly appointed luxury rooms (double bedded) feature en suite spa baths or body jet showers, large screen TVs and DVD players. For that extra special visit, we even have a king-size contemporary four-poster bedroom.
We also offer as an optional chargeable extra - celebration packages consisting of champagne, chocolates and flowers.
Southview is one of the few small private guest houses to boast its own heated indoor swimming pool. The pool is kept at a constant 82 degrees and measures 8 metres by 4 metres (24 foot by 12 foot).
Whatever the weather, come rain or come shine, the pool is a tempting option and the pool leads straight out onto the south-facing sun terrace.
There is an outdoor smoking area available for guests' use.
Directions.
By Car (from the M6 motorway):
- Leave the M6 at junction 36, taking the A590 following the signs towards Kendal.
- This road then turns into the A591.
- This road will bring you into Windermere.
- When you reach Windermere, turn left at the junction, following the signs for Windermere town centre. It is a big junction with a Natwest bank on one corner, and the train station and Tourist Information Centre on the other.
- Cross Street, where the guest house is located, is then a quick turning into the 2nd street on the left. There is a Chinese restaurant called Golden Mountain on the corner of Cross Street.
- Be careful not to miss the turn, as if you do, you will find yourself in the one-way system.
- Cross Street is a cul-de-sac and you will find the guest house right at the end, tucked in on the left-hand side.
By Train
Come out of the railway station and proceed towards the town centre, keeping to the left. Cross Street is the 2nd turning on the left. Proceed to the end of this road and the guest house is on the left-hand side.
