Set high on the side of the Hope Valley, most rooms at the Sir William have panoramic views over the village and across the valley.
The Sir William has 7 individual bedrooms that offer many of the facilities of a full service hotel, but in relaxed and informal surroundings. The traditional inn is ideal for a short break, romantic weekend or even an activity holiday.
The hotel has been recently refurbished and is home to the Terrace Garden Restaurant, which serves classic English food.
Directions.
By car from Manchester:
- Follow the A6 for Stockport then Chapel-en-le-Frith.
- Exit onto the A623 for Calver and at Calver Crossroads turn left for Grindleford (B6251).
- In Grindleford, turn left for Hathersage (B6001).
- The Sir William Hotel is located 100 yards from the junction of the B6251 and the B6001 on the right hand side.
By car from Birmingham:
- Take the M42 north for Tamworth.
- Join the M1 (north) and exit at junction 29.
- Take the A617 for Chesterfield town centre.
- Take the A619 for Baslow then the A623 for Calver.
- At Calver Crossroads turn right onto the B6251 for Grindleford.
- Continue as above.
