The Roundthorn Country House is a Grade II Listed Georgian Mansion, set in its own landscaped grounds, with panoramic views of the Eden Valley, Pennines and Lakeland Fells and overlooking the busy market town of Penrith.
Roundthorn is located in an extremely peaceful and secluded environment yet only minutes from the M6 and A66. All the bedrooms here at the Roundthorn Country House Hotel are unique in character and furnished to the highest standard. Each of our bedrooms have en-suite bath or shower room, direct dial telephone, tv, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer. Many of our rooms have spectacular outlooks over the beautiful Eden Valley, all are spacious and tastefully decorated. The house has its own bar lounge and a cosy residents lounge, with a real fire in the winter.

Directions.From the south: at m6 junction 40 take a66 alston (a686) at next roundabout take a686 alston after 3/4 mile turn left (signed roundthorn) at t-Junction turn left after 500 yards turn right for roundthorn from the north: at m6 junction 41 take a6 penrith on entering penrith turn left for langwathby and alston (a686) after 1.5 miles turn left for roundthorn. From the west: head for junction 40 on the m6 and take a66 brough/scotch corner at next roundabout take a686 alston after 0.75 mile turn left (signed roundthorn) at t-Junction turn left, then after 500 yards turn right for roundthorn and immediately right onto the drive. From the east: at roundabout at the end of the a66 take a686 alston after 0.75 mile turn left (signed roundthorn) at t-Junction turn left, then after 500 yards turn right for roundthorn and immediately right onto the drive.
