A Delightful cottage with views over open countryside towards Simonside (and the Cheviot Hills beyond). Wingates is a small village, situated on a no-through road surrounded by farmland. It is an ideal setting for those who wish to escape from the pressures of modern life.
A beautiful cottage bed & breakfast situated on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, with easy access to Newcastle, Alnwick, Hadrians Wall and the beautiful Northumbrian coast.
The original Pele Tower, which probably dates from the 16th century, was altered during the reign of Queen Victoria when additional wings were added. Recently Pele Cottage has been sympathetically modernised to provide a charming home, full of character and interest, yet with all modern conveniences.
The first floor of the cottage is exclusively for the use of guests, available to rent either as a suite of rooms or just one of the bedrooms together with the sitting room and bathroom. The guests sitting room has TV, video and a good selection of books and magazines. The spacious bathroom features a separate shower cubicle with power shower as well as a large bath.
Breakfast is served in our Dining Room which overlooks the front garden and benefits from morning sunshine. A full English breakfast or lighter alternatives are offered, including home-made bread and preserves, and eggs from our own free-range hens. Tea and Coffee making facilities are available in the guests sitting room.
Guests are welcome to use the gazebo to enjoy the magnificent views over open countryside towards Simonside (and the Cheviot Hills beyond). There is ample parking to the front of the property.
Pets are not allowed in the house, but we welcome dogs (by prior arrangement) and can provide comfortable and warm accommodation for them in one of our outbuildings. Drying racks are available for wet clothes and boots in the same outbuilding.
PLEASE NOTE: Check-in is from 16:00 to 20:00. Early/Late Check-ins by arrangement. Check-out is by 10:30. We operate a no smoking policy. Regretfully we cannot accommodate children under 10 years of age.
