Once the home of the Rowntree family, the hotel was originally built in 1833. The main building still retains many period features and it is easy to imagine this beautiful building in all of its historic splendour. Now one of the few remaining privately owned and family-run hotels in York, The Knavesmire Manor Hotel takes pride in offering a friendly, personal service to all guests.
In the immaculately kept gardens, the hotel’s tropical conservatory houses an indoor heated swimming pool and spa bath. The hotel’s other facilities include a fully licensed bar, a drawing room and the hotel’s popular on-site restaurant. There is a car park to the rear of the main building, with ample free parking available for guests use.
Just a mile from York city centre, the hotel is located on Tadcaster Road, York's Royal Approach. The hotel enjoys uninterrupted views across the wide-open spaces of York Knavesmire to York Racecourse, which hosted Royal Ascot in 2005. The good location makes the Knavesmire Manor Hotel a great base from which to explore the historic city of York and the surrounding Yorkshire countryside. Whether you are enjoying a city break with family and friends; staying overnight on business; exploring the area as a tourist; or simply taking a well-earned relaxing break, the hotel’s comfortable rooms are a peaceful, restful haven. The hotel offers a mixture of bright, modern, motel-style garden rooms and more traditional rooms in the main building. All rooms are equipped with modern facilities.
The hotel is also a great location for the smaller conference or for meetings of up to 40 delegates. There are 2 conference rooms and seating can be arranged in a variety of styles to suit the requirements of your event. Additional services include photocopying, fax and Wi-Fi wireless internet access. Additional equipment can be hired as required.
Reception is open from 07:00 until 23:00 and the duty manager and team of friendly staff are always delighted to offer any information or assistance as required. Room Service is available until 20:30.

Directions.
By Car (from the south and west):
Approach York on the A64 from Leeds, the M1 or the A1(M). Turn into the A1036, following the signs towards York city centre. The hotel is on the left-hand side, overlooking the racecourse.
By Car (from the north):
From the A1(M), take the A59 into York until it meets the A1036 at the junction of Holgate and Blossom Street. Turn right at the traffic fights, following the signs for Leeds.

By Car (from the A19):
Turn right onto the A1237 until the junction with the A59, and then follow the directions above.
By Train:
The station in York offers a direct train service from London, Edinburgh and most parts of the UK.

Arrive early to enjoy some sale shopping in the wonderful City of York.
Traditional Afternoon Tea will be available throughout the afternoon as you meet with your fellow guests at the Manor.
In the evening the Yorkshire Belles escort you on a City Tour by Night aboard their 1959 London Route Master Bus followed by a lavish Hot & Cold Buffet in the Restaurant.
New Years Eve
After a full Yorkshire Breakfast you have a day at leisure to explore York and all its attractions. Perhaps a spot of sale shopping or a look at one of York’s many Museums, the choice is yours.
In the evening a Champagne Reception begins our New Year Celebrations, followed by a seven course Gala Dinner. After Dinner join our resident DJ in the Drawing Room where we play your choice of music to take us into the New Year.
