The ancient Mackenzies of Coul picked a wonderful situation for this classic country house hotel, originally built in 1821 for Sir George Mackenzie as a traditional hunting lodge, its stunning views over the Strathconon Valley and Achilty mountains beyond, eight acres of mature woodland, private nine hole pitch and putt and unique octagonal dining room make it an ideal venue for a quiet getaway, small wedding or conference.
Only 20 miles north of Inverness, you can easily cruise Loch Ness, visit Macbeths Cawdor Castle, even sail to the Orkney Isles and still be back in time for dinner! The Dining Room offers contemporary gourmet meals with an imaginative menu, often featuring Scottish game, local salmon and, of course, our homemade breads, pastries and delightful desserts.
