Cartref Guest House is located within the ancient town walls of spectacular Caernarfon Castle. A delightful 18th Century town house built by a Scottish Baronet, it retains many of its original features including some very special carved, Welsh slate fireplaces with magnificent cast iron inserts.
The town centre, shops and restaurants are just 2 minutes away and there are numerous museums, galleries and theatres within easy reach. The countryside of Snowdonia is also close by for walking, cycling, sailing, outdoor pursuits, amazing beaches and rock pools and golf set amongst dramatic scenery. Also the guest house is just two minutes walk from the banks of the picturesque Menai Straight, opposite the Isle of Anglesey.
Cartref prides itself on the relaxation and the quality of service offered to guests. It takes pride in providing food to savour, in an unhurried and comfortable space and is keen to emulate the slow city movement of Italy:
We are enslaved by speed and have all succumbed to the same insidious virus: Fast Life, which disrupts our habits, invades the privacy of our homes, and forces us to eat fast foods"Carlo Petrini.
