Set in wonderful open countryside on the Cumbria / Northumberland boundary, Bush Nook Guest House was first built in 1760 with stone probably 'borrowed' from the nearby Hadrian's Wall and is close to some of it best-preserved sections. Nook offers award-winning ensuite bed and breakfast accommodation and a superbly equipped self-catering holiday cottage.
Set in stunning open countryside with views from every window, Bush Nook was part of the estate held in trust for the Earl of Carlisle in the Barony of "Guilsland". Built in 1760, with further additions in 1811 and 1849, Bush Nook provides quality accommodation and has received 4 Star 'Highly Commended' & 4 Star 'Silver Award' Visit Britain accreditations. Local food and produce is a speciality with award-winning evening meals and a license to provide a wide range of wines, spirits and soft drinks. Dinners must be booked in advance and with prior notice of any special dietary needs.
All rooms are ensuite with most having open-beamed ceilings. Guests are invited to rest and relax in the 'quiet' lounge or the delightful conservatory. There is also a recently converted, superbly equipped self-catering holiday cottage in the Hay Barn, sleeping two people.
Close to some of the best-preserved sections of Hadrian's Wall, Bush Nook is situated right on the Cumbria / Northumberland boundary, halfway between the towns of Haltwhistle and Brampton and is only half a mile off the A69. Bush Nook is ideally situated to explore this beautiful scenic part of the North of England, including the North Pennines and Eden Valley. Also easily accessible are Carlisle and the M6 to the West, Newcastle and the A1 to the East.
