Entering the Barceló Lygon Arms isn't a mere step but a leap back in time. Let the hotel and the Cotswolds charm and amaze you.
The Barceló Lygon Arms was established as an Inn in 1532 by the Whyte family, in a quiet and beautiful village. Whether as a couple, with friends or family, this lovely hotel will welcome you with seven ancient and sumptuous lounges, two splendid restaurants and a bar that reflects the sporting traditions of the area - everywhere warmed by real log fires. Here you do not just observe history, you are immersed in it. From the stone doorways, to the antique furniture and from mullion windows to Georgian ceilings the hotel's history is present every where you go.
Charles the 1st and Cromwell were both guests who have enjoyed the hospitality of the Barceló Lygon Arms. If you appreciate English heritage, you could have no finer base to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds than the Barceló Lygon Arms. For those who want to be pampered, they can luxuriate in our extensive spa, and those more actively inclined can exercise in our well equipped gym, pool or all weather tennis courts. We would like to advise you that we have now embarked on a complex restoration project of the Barceló Lygon Arms and we have engaged the help of some of the country’s leading craftsmen to help restore this great property to its former glory. Unfortunately these craftsmen will not go unnoticed during your stay, so please do bear with us whilst they go about their work. We will not be compromising the high standards of hospitality on which we pride ourselves whilst this work is being carried out and we will do our best to keep any inconvenience to a minimum.
