Ashford Castle dates back to 1228 and is set on the shores of Lough Corrib- Irelands second largest lake- in the picturesque village of Cong.
Today it is recognized as aworld class resort property in a private estate of 350acres. Once the home of the Guinness family Ashford wasthe chosen location for the producers and stars during the making of the epic film the -Quiet Man-.
