Callender is the gateway to the Highlands and provides an excellent base from which to explore Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Ben Ledi, Ben A'an and Ben Guillipen are readily accessible for those who wish to tackle a local Ben. Within a five minutes drive of Callander are Loch Vennacher, Loch Achray and Loch Lubnaig. Add ten minutes to that and you can include Loch Katrine and its steamer trips, or The Lake of Menteith with its Inchmaholm Priory Ruins. These Lochs between them offer sailing, water skiing, steamer trips, fishing and of course magnificent scenery. Stirling is located 14 miles away and Glasgow and Edinburgh are within 45 miles.
Abbotsford Lodge is a large Victorian house built around 1890. Most of the main rooms in the house retain many of their original features. For special occasions, we can arrange for champagne, fresh fruit and flowers to be in the room on your arrival. The beautifully refurbished residents' lounge and conservatory are ideal places to sit, relax and enjoy afternoon tea. Evening meals can be cooked to order, using fresh ingredients and special dietary requirements can be catered for.
